Musée national du Cameroun of African Art is located in the former palace of the first President of the Ahmadou Ahidjo Republic, it is one of the few museums in Cameroon. After 6 years of renovation work, he found in 2015 its former glory. On 5000 m² and in 30 rooms, you will be able to discover all the historical and political aspects of the country. Everything is there: the ten regions and their costumes, the music and traditional instruments, artifacts, photo archives tracing the history of the country, unique pieces that belonged to traditional leaders, objects loaded with magic and belief. Even the saxophone of the iconic musician Manu Dibango sits in a showcase. History is everywhere, from the archives of the constitution to the rare photos of dignitaries who have succeeded to official functions. The reopening of the Musée national du Cameroun of African Art is accompanied by new features. Beautiful sculptures of a queen of yesteryear and her subjects adorn the entrance of the building. The African Art exhibition was enriched with national works previously presented abroad, paintings of contemporary art, as well as objects from ancient Egypt.
